Eye-Sight for military special forces?

Question:

I am a 19 year old, considering joining army special forces; green berets. Desiring some kinda form of direct action MOS. So yeah, I'll definitely need/want perfect eye-vision or better. Problem is that I am near-sighted and my myopia has not yet stabilized. So here's my question. Is it possible to go through the training in order to become a green-beret during the time required for my eyes to stablize and then receive the army financed LASIK? Or do I have to have perfect-eyesight before I can even try out for army special forces. Any information related to eye-sight and military combat operatives would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.

i am not certain about the army. but for the navy seals it has to be correctable to 20/20. and the navy is paying for lasik right now for seals. Seals also get 40,000 enlist bonus

I don't think you're eye sight needs to be perfect but if it's very serious, maybe.

Hi, Join the Army as any MOS (you pick) I recomend 11X 31B 19D or especially 68W (infantry, MP, Cav Scout, medic) and than go to Basic and AIT make sure you get airborne in your contract. Than in a couple of years once you are E4 put in your SF request packet and your DA4187 (request for service school) and than go for it. .... Shadow Stalker
