Halo vision after Lasik Surgery?

Question:
Hi, I did my lasik laser surgery long back(nearly 5 years) and I am having a halo vision in the night. I could not drive because of this. When I was going through internet, I found Alphagan-P will reduce this Halo vision. I am worried about side effects

My questions are

1) How to avoid Halos, is there is any new technology developed

2) What are all the side effects of Alphagan - P

Thanks for your answers.

Answer:
Alphagan is a glaucoma medication. The halos that medication is talking about is unrelated to yours. Alphagan lowers the pressure in your eye. If people have uncontrolled glaucoma, their eye pressure may increase dramatically and cause halos around lights (headaches and vomiting usually accompany this).

Seeing halos around lights especially at night is the number one complaint of people after undergoing refractive surgery. Unfortunately you have to deal with it. You can have driving glasses made with a really good anti-reflective coating on them, but I realize this probably what you want to do, considering that is why you had the surgery to begin with, to get rid of glasses. Ironic I know.
Currently there is no confirmed method to eliminate halos. It usually gets better a few months later but in some cases, like yours, it might persist.

Alphagan P is a drug that lowers your intraocular pressure (the pressure in your eye). It is not used to reduce halos. Side effects: worst case scenario -anaphylaxis. It more commonly causes redness or discomfort but is usually tolerable.
