Lasik horror stories?

I have not had lasik done personally, but i work for an optometrist and there are unsuccessful stories of lasik. We have many patients who had the procedure done, and I can only recall about 2-3 patients with bad experiences. All of them were over corrected. When they went in for the surgery they were nearsighted and when they came out they were slightly farsighted and had to have some correction. This was probably 5 or 6 years ago and every patient we have seen since then has had success. I have had the opportunity to see these results over a 9 year period and thus have seen many people who had the lasik procedure.
The best advice i can give is do your research; which you are doing. But also research the doctor who is doing the lasik procedure. Find out how many procedures they have done and what is their success rate. Also find out what lasik procedure they perform because they is more than one way to do it. Some doctors still use technology that is a little older and the surgery may be less expensive; but may also be less accurate. A doctor who uses the latest technology will be more expensive but will also have more accuracy with the procedure.

I had it done. Never heard a bad story. They also can change prescription if not happy after up to one year with most Drs.
Do ask for references.
