Lasik- pros and cons?

Question:
i have a very bad vision, I'm nearsighted( it's 9-9.5D for contacts, 10-10.5D for glasses). is it safe to get the LASIK done when the vision is this bad? what's the percentage of seing 20/20 after the surgery?what's the percentage of complications?

Answer:
Your vision must be stable in order to get Lasik...which means you must be somewhere around 30 years old. You have to go see a doctor once now and once in 6 months or a year later to make sure that your vision hasn't changed during this time. The scariest thing is that it is a machine that will be cutting the surface of your eyes...and any machines will have mechanical errors once in a while...if that happens to you, the machine will cut too deep into your eyes and you have to wear some kind of special permanent contact lenses for the rest of your life.
Get someone who does it a lot. Results are very good. Every case is a little different, so ask you ophthalmologist every question you just asked and any thing else.
