Anyone Out There With Bad Vision?
Question:
Could LASIK entirely cure it? Also, I have a question about LASIK. Let's say my vision is -9.00D (which it is) and a laser that cures up to -7.00 is used on it. Would I be left with -2.00D?

You have signifcant MYOPIA. This level of nearsightedness can be helped with Cornea surgery, LASIK and you'd be glad you did the surgery if everything went well. But people with this degree of myopia also have retinal problems, so be sure to see a retina specialist first to make sure the manipulation during the laser surgery won't cause a retinal detachment.
The number indicates how powerful your eyes are. The formula is P=1/m where P is the power...the -9, and m is meters. so it's one over the distance in meters, which for you is 1/9 of a meter or just over 10 cm.
if you were a -1 you'd be focused 1 meter away.
if you were a -2, a half meter away.
-3, a third of a meter away.
This advise is coming from someone who fixes retinas.
A retinal detachment is a -9 eye is VERY difficult to fix, statistically.

Well, how old are you? I'm -2.00 on both eyes. It's not THAT bad. You should go ask an optician about that. It varies on eye sensitivity and things like that. Lasik may not always be the best option. Good luck!

Because of the margin-of-error in LASIK, they would typically want to do you twice; once to get closer to where you should be (without overshooting), and then a second time to complete the job.
I have 20:15 vision after LASIK. Being able to read the time on the alarm clock in the morning is just amazing! It's a little irritating, too, but hey..
I have bad vision too, but not that bad mine is like -6 and -5. I think LASIK entirely cures your eyes or they keep doing it till it does and I hear that your vision is better than it was before you had bad vision.
young? gotta be 17 to get lasik i believe and i have bad eyes =( im 16 and had 2 cornea transplants and going for a 3rd june 27th wish me luck people please
