Natural / Alternative Cure for Correcting/Improving Vision (Astigmatism)?
Question:
Just wanna know about the Natural treatments available for Correcting or Improving vision.I have a slight Astigmatism of less than 1 in both eyes. I am planning to have a career in Armed forces(may be flying). So i want to know about any Natural or Alternative treatment available for Rectifying this condition. I dont want to go for Surgical procedure like LASIK or PRK. I have heard about Bates method and Exercises, but dont know how much effective they are in correcting Astigmatism. Please advice.
Thanks in advance.
Answer:
I recently started trying eye exercises to help improve my vision. I created a blog so that people can follow my progress

The program I am using is called the Vision for Life Program. Actually, the founder of the program, Orlin Sorensen, was also interested in flying, which is what got him interested in eye exercises.
Exercises can increase your visual acuity which can help you make up for bad vision a little. It does not actually correct it. think of this. If a person loses their right hand then gets good at doing stuff with their left hand, their right hand is not replaced, but their capability is better for doing stuff like playing frisbee or writing.
Well, the exercises will not hurt you, and may help so I suggest trying those. Also, there are many vitamin and mineral supplements, Lutein in particular, that are good for supporting eye health. Go to GNC or some similar store that sells such things and they can suggest some things to you. As far as the armed forces are concerned, their requirements are very strict for pilots. If your vision's not 20/20 you probably won't make the cut. Don't do laser procedures if all you have is minor astigmatism; in fact I don't believe they'd do such a procedure for that anyway. Hope the info helps a little.
There are certain eye exercises that can strengthen the 6 external eye muscles so that the eyes can work together better and improve your focus. These must be done under professional supervision. An astigmatism is a condition of having unequal curvatures of the lens, or cornea, or the retina of the eye. There is no cure other than corrective lenses, or perhaps laser. No exercises or natural cure.
You can try billberry, it is known for improving eyes.
Also check it out on this site, they have a billberry concentrate available. I use it myself.

I have MS and had a few eye problems. Exercises is good/ Getting as little (little ) sun everyday. And I drank veg juice that I made in a juicer everyday- fresh-carrots-spinach-apple (add parsley-celery-beets and other at times-get a good health juicing book) . My eyes did improve. At one time eye Dr. wanted me for eye surgery-now he says not necessary. Must be diligent on juice until you feel improvement.
There are quite a few commercial eye exercises programmes out there.
Therefore, I'm quite luckly to find this site that offers free and comprehensive guide on eye exercises.
You might want to try the exercises there first, since it's free. After that, you might want to consider the commercial programme. That's what I'm doing now. :)
Astigmatism occurs because your eyeball is cone shaped, not rounded, get used to it....I have.
BTW, exercises WON'T change the shape of your eyeball!!! No matter how much you do them!!
(Just a little common sense, thats all we ask.)
