Yes, it is possible. My girlfriend had BAD astigmatism, and she just had LASIK. Not only did she achieve 20/20, her astigmatism was corrected.

Yes. I have Astigmatism and until I was almost 30 had 20/20 vision. As you get older the astigmatism will impact the vision as bit more. I'm not sure about laser eye surgery since my vision is still good enough to avoid looking into it.
