Answer:
I had lasik last year. You may be able to get a doctor to do it with your parents permission, but do your research before you do it! There are many risks and complications. Your eyes change as you age, so later on in life you may still need reading glasses for close up reading, and dry eye can be horrible. I have dry eye all the time now ( I didn't before ), I have to use drops, my eyes get tired easily, sun light bothers me alot. You need to take into consideration things like... are you prone to allergies? This can make dry eye worse & antihistamines make your eyes unbearably dry! What about your skin? Is it dry normally? Mine was & this has played a part in the dry eye. Also, thoroughly research your lasik doctor! Ask questions, do a Better Business Bureau search, has he been sued? Exactly how many - a number - has he done? Number of years experience is irrelevant. Research other doctors in your area. Compare prices, cheaper isn't always better.

It does work. My vision used to be 20/50 both eyes. Now I have 20/20 in my right eye, 20/15 in my left eye. The dry eye is the only thing I have a problem with. I sometimes see double when my eyes get dry, and they feel like I have dirt in them. I use drops every 3 to 4 hours.

So, do your research, ask every question you want answered, and don't stop asking until it gets answered! You only have one set of eyes & this procedure can NOT be repaired or reversed. I live in a very small town and personally know people who have had bad results with lasik. So think, don't jump.
you should wait until your growth spurts end (around 21) because as you grow so do your eyes and eye sockets. you could end up having your vision change again
Before even getting considered, you need 4 years where your prescription has stayed the same. You should wait another few years at least.
You don't want to get surgery, only to have your eyes get worse and you will need glasses again.
