Almost 2 years ago I had lasik surgery. Right from the beginning I had problems.?
Question:
Answer:
The dizziness and nausea are normal. (I don't know that it takes a year to correct that, though.) As for needing reading glasses, that depends on your age. If you are around 40 years old, that's when you start needing them. It has nothing to do with the surgery. However, the doctor should have mentioned it. If you were nearsighted, he could have "undercorrected" your vision to help make-up for the fact that you would need reading glasses. Some patients even undercorrect one eye, but that is something you'd have to get used to before having surgery to see if you even like it by wearing contact lenses or glasses with a slightly different prescription in one eye. Again, this is all to help modify the need for reading glasses.
Unfortunately there really isn't a perfect surgery to get rid of reading glasses. If your vision is back to where it was before you had the surgery, I would definitely ask to have it redone. Where I use to work, we would do enhancements for free up to a year.
I, too, had Lasik surgery. The only problem I had was severe dry eye, but that cleared up within a year. I have not hit my 40s yet, so I haven't had the need for reading glasses. I'm sorry your experience hasn't been a positive one and I suggest you ask the doctor to try to correct the problem.
I would not go back to him! He should compensate you though. Find a new doctor ASAP.
One of the warnings that was given to me when I had Lasik done was: You will eventually need glasses for reading and driving. I'm pretty sure this is standard.
