Why Are Banks Allowed To Give 0.1% Interest On Current Accounts?

Question:
Its disgusting. Why does anyone go for them?
0.1% DOESN'T EVEN COVER INFLATION RATES!
Basically, some banks are investing our money in stocks and shares, keeping ALL the profits and not even paying us the inflation rate! Sick...
So we are PAYING banks to borrow our money out and keep any money made for themselves! Whereas inflation lessens the value of our money while they use our money to make more money! Good idea, but sick!
If you don't like it then put your money somewhere else. No one's putting a gun to your head.
Get a good money market fund and stop whining.
