What should I major in to become a stock broker?
Question:
or if you have any other ideas.
What would you advise and why?
Economics
Ask your faculty adviser.
Finance, definately. Economics has a lot of overlap classes with finance, so its easy to pick up a double major too.
business in accounting, most likely. i am majoring business administration but some of my gen ed classes for business in general cover stocks in an accounting class i had to take. economics and finance classes will be within this major.
You are on the right path..may try a minor in economics with a major in finance, after all those have the most direct correlation with your future goal. When you get to college(or if you are already there) talk to one of the business school counselors for advice and guidance..thats what they are there for.
GL
Finance.
Definitely Finance and Accounting. However, knowing economics, statstics and law will definitely prepare you to be more than just a stockbroker.
Eventually, you aim to get into management and become an executive/leader, no matter what field you choose.
preferrably finance with some econometrics and know what excel is all about, not the easy stuff, u have to be able to make comlpex stuff with excel
and also important: high grades!
99.9% of the time the broker is not the one making the analyst decisions. While a strong economics and finance background is preferred, most big house investment firms are hiring alot of professionl sale sor marketing majors as well.
Iam trading with Interconnected Stock Exchange of India
