Best way to BUY / SELL / TRADE stock online?
Question:
I know Etrade.com is one site but I was wondering if there were any more sites.
As well as the best site, does anyone have any ideas on what account to set up?
try zecco.com free trades. had some growing pains, but good now.
Good luck.

The more important questions to ask - what is your risk tolerance? How do you plan to trade? How familiar are you with market terminology? Can you afford to lose all the money you are investing?
Unless you have a firm understanding of market fundamentals, are willing to spend a LOT of time on research of individual stocks, and are not afraid to lose everything, then I would advise you against trading individual stocks.
For most people, mutual funds are a better long term investment. If you cannot afford to buy into these (most require at least $1000 to start) then you should look at buying ETFs.
I like Scottrade. You can open an account for $500 and it only costs you $7.00 per trade. There are no account fees or any hidden fees. They also have a good trading platform and research section.
I have dealt with them in person, by phone, and via email. They have always provided quick and helpful service.
They do not provide investment advice. But, if you plan on doing your own research Scottrade is good.
http://www.sharebuilder.com has no minimum deposit and has the cheapest commissions that iv found.
Hi Thomas
As far as the actual trading transactions themselves, opening a trading account with Scottrade is easy. Scottrade only requires a $500 minimum to open a new account, and you can apply online. It is only $7.00/trade for stocks priced over $1 per share, regardless of your trade frequency or the number of shares in a transaction. However, you don't want to jump blindly into investing. Some important things to consider are the reason you're investing (for short term enjoyment or long range goals such as college, a new home, or retirement), the risk associated with the various investments, and then choosing the investment, or mix of investments, that are right for you.
You can compare the commissions/fees of several brokerage firms at: http://www.scottrade.com/online_broker_c... .
I hope you find this information useful. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'd be happy to help.

Hi,
I used "Rockwell Trading Strategies" to make consistent profits. With these strategies, they really simplified my trading and I don't have to use anymore the complicated formulas and indicators.I came accross this company on NBC News Special Edition.
Now, they're offering 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don't see a major improvement by applying the strategies, they will not only refund your investment, they will pay you $1001… out of their own pocket.Check it out here:

Well it all depends on how you want to trade. If you have alot of money and want someone to take care of your money for you, try one of the larger firms.
If you are like me, and don't have a ton of money(paying for college isn't cheap) and just want something affordable and that works, I recommend Zecco. I personally am currently using them and can say they are great. They offer free stock trades (40 per month/ or 10 per day, whatever comes first) after that they charge $3.50 per trade, which is still less than anywhere else. They also have no minimum to open an account, again another plus for me. And lastly, no maintenance fees ever.
While they don't have every bell and whistle in the control panel, it doesn't matter to me because I simply choose companies by reading up on some and checking stuff out on Google finance.
