What do I do about the good boss/bad boss scenario?
Question:
Answer:
You obviously feel some loyalty or you would already be gone. The company is succeeding off the backs of its employees, you.
I would definitely be making some effort to depart. Before you leave, verify with accounting that the proper taxes were withheld and paid on your behalf. If not, when you leave report them to the IRS.
You must take care of You. Unfortunately what you are going through is widespread not to mention unethical. Make this a learning experience and part of your employment "history."
Don't expect anything like a job recommendation, or even employment verification. You are mistaking "friendship" with business association. The company is not on a good road, you don't want to be roadkill.
Seems to me this bad situation could linger on for a long time. It's hard for partners to "break-up" and if the good boss isn't doing anything about the situation, he probably won't. I would take the new opportunity, learn from this bad situation, and move on. It doesn't sound like a healthy environment for you.
Good luck!
Have you considered the fact that even the good boss did not do anything for you when he had the chance? You have no insurance and you got get paid regularly. If you really do have a good offer with pay close to what you are making or more and with insurance then I would take it now and get out. You do not even know for sure that your Social security has ben paid on the employers side. If that happens and the company folds you are on the hook for the social security personally. Social security dont care they just want thier money. So for these reasons and probably more you know that I dont you already know it is a bad situation. do you really think it is going to get better?
My suggestion get going to a better place
Hi!
Its both of ur bosses doesn`t have sense of doing business, and when u r not being paid regularly then there is no question of wheter he is good boss or bad boss, if u have an offer u shud leave straight away throwing resignation on their faces.u may not get ur dues but then its is better to leave and think that u have done profit in loss and u may get good job at other place.
Business is one thing. Friendship is another. I have friends that I love but whom I will never recommend for a job ever again. Leave the company and be there for your pal when the business finally folds under.
