I have had a serious problem with computer hackers, please help.?
Question:
Answer:
You have no choice but to reformat your computer.
Start fresh...
sounds like your infected with a trojan horse, download a good trojan horse remover and get it off there asap.
most of those people that infect you with those use keyloggers so they are able to record every key stroke on your computer, which is how they get your passwords.
"A few weeks ago my ebay account got hacked into and they had false bids on my behalf. ebay sent me a warning that even because it was from my account they knew it was a hacker. i changed my passwords on my ebay and my email account."
I would say the email that you got asking you to change your password was a fake. You gave them your old password, right? Did you follow a link on the email to change your password, or did you manually go to www.ebay.com and change it?
If you followed a link, you have provided someone with your ebay password. They probably then used it to log in to your account and changed your info. Now they are buying things with your money.
You'd better get in touch with ebay, if the above assumptions are correct.
well, u got a really bad and common problem there, but dont worry it can be fixed..i wont be able to help u get your email back but as soon as u do, i got just the right way u can prevent this from happening again. well, the reason your computer is vulnerable from hackers is because u have no firewall, or it's out-dated. i have suffered the same fate of hackers, trojan horses and all that, but ever since i installed the world's number one firewall, and antivirus plus spyware killer, i have never had the same problem again..first u should install Zone Alarm Antispyware from zonelabs.com.it's firewall is by far the best that i have seen because it comletely hides your computer from any threats, ensuring that when u are surfing u have the maximum protection you deserve. then, to work side by side with zone alarm, i would recommend norton antivirus 2006. it is the ultimate virus guard today though many people may not like it because of the numerous payments you will have to make. but i would highly recommend it, but if u are not one of the norton lovers, then bitdefender antivirus would also do the trick, though i still feel it's not as effective as norton antivirus 2006 via real time protection. to me, if your computer has those two, ie Norton Antivirus 2006, and Zone Alarm antispyware, hackers have no chance against you, as they always say, prevention is better than cure, if u have any questions, email me at <realnsleo@yahoo.co.uk>, i sure will help. thanks.
Download AntiVir from http://www.free-av.com, update it and run a full system scan. Remove any threats found.
Now download Spybot & Ad-Aware from:
http://www.safer-networking.org...
http://www.lavasoft.com
Install Spybot & Ad-Aware and make sure they are up to date. Run a full system scan and remove any threats found.
Now that we have got rid of the pests in your machine download ZoneAlarm from:
http://www.zonelabs.com
ZoneAlarm will prevent hackers from invading your computer.
Be sure that you update this software regularly and run a full system scan every now and then.
Good Luck
yes yes we know u are 1
Why doesn't my password work?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
Set your Caps Lock key correctly. Your AT&T Yahoo! Dial or High Speed Internet password is case sensitive: "PASSWORD," "PaSsWoRd," and "password" are not equivalent. Keep this in mind when entering your password.
Delete your cookies. If cookies aren't accepted correctly by your browser, you may be logged out of email home page as soon as you move to a different page. This may block your current ability to sign in or stay signed in.
Clear your browser's cache. The cache is the memory your browser uses to store the content of the Web pages you visit. Storing that content lets your browser load those same pages more quickly the next time you visit them.
If you're still having problems, find out how you can request a new password.
What should I do if I forget my password?
There are several steps to take if you believe you have forgotten your password:
1. Ensure you typed the correct password. Remember, passwords are case sensitive.
2. Make sure Caps Lock is not enabled on your keyboard.
3. Was the Member ID entered correctly? Make sure you have entered your Member ID and domain which is the same as your full email address.
4. Ensure cookies are enabled.
5. After two unsuccessful attempts, open a new browser window such as Internet Explorer and try again.
Why isn't my password working?
There are several reasons you may be getting the "Invalid Password" or "Invalid ID" error message. The most common reasons are:
Passwords are case-sensitive, meaning that "PASSWORD," "PaSsWoRd," and "password" are not equivalent, so make sure your Caps Lock key is properly set.
Do not add the "@yahoo.com" to your ID when signing in.
If you have recently requested a new password, wait 24 hours before attempting to log back in to your account. This will allow your account to update.
The other possibility is that there is a problem setting your "user cookie." A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser to help identify you. If your cookie is not being accepted correctly, you will be logged out of your account as soon as you move to a different page. This may be what is preventing you from logging in or staying logged in as you move from page to page on our web site.
Try shutting all of your browser Windows, then find and delete the cookie files in your browser's directories located on your hard drive. Usually, these files are called "cookies." Be sure that you have selected the proper files before deleting.
