Does any1 over here use share builder?
Question:
Answer:
Well I use share builder and for me it's the best Discount broker service because they let you buy fractions of a share instead of having to buy the whole piece. First you need to understand how the securities market works and have a basic understanding of stock, how to research a stock and not be afraid to invest. Well My favorite feature is that share builder lets you invest automatically for only 4 dollars per trade you only need to know what stocks do you want to buy and the amount of money you are willing to invest in each stock. I know this explanation is too general but I'm sure these books will help you:

I've looked at sharebuilder, but haven't used it myself because I haven't the large amounts of spare cash that justifies it.
What I do is invest directly with the individual companies through their Dividend Reinvestment Programs (DRiPs). Minimal if any costs, and with a smallish initial investment, you can invest as little as $25 per month automatically. The drawback is you can't time your investments, the program buys once or twice a month, and you have to live with the price. If you are like me, and intend to hold an investment over time, then it's a good way for the small investor to get started.
When you don't have to think about investing, i.e., setting it up so it's automatic, it's amazing how fast an investment can grow. Once you build your numbers of shares, and you opt to reinvest the dividends, it grows by itself.
One of the appeals for me is watching my own research pay off over time. I've gotten real lucky with most of my DRiPs.
i have a sharebuilder account i've been with them for 2 years... its like a savings account but instead of the bank you put it in the stock... or mutual fund... there are some charges apply every month.
