Why do Exec's make over 1 million a year and the workers $18,000 but the workers get cut due to costs?
Question:
This is the way things were in the late 1800's with the sweat shops that led to the necessity for Labor Unions.
How can anyone say that they should make one million and you should make $18,000 and that's fair wages?
This is right on the edge of being criminal.
The top Fat Cats sucking the life blood out of the companies and then blaming it on the employees. Then they cut the number of workers to show a profit margin increase. Then they give themselves a bonus for making the numbers...
Which means they need to cut more workers, raise the co pays, decrease any raises again next year.
This is the beginning of the end. A total collapse of our economy will be the result if this continues.
Answer:
It's one of the cons of having a free economy. All economies have pros and cons. This one is an incredibly sucky con. I'm all for people going after the dream, but not at the expense of loyal hard-working employees.
Have you seen the resumes of all those Executives?
They get paid $1,000,000.00 because they produce $10,000.000.00 in profits to the shareholders.
Workers ger paid $18,000.00 because they produce $180,000.00 in profits to the shareholders.
If the executive finds a way to make more money for the company he will keep his job and maybe will get a raise or a bonus.
On the other hand, if you are a General Motors employee and you make say, 1000 cars a year in 2001, 900 cars in 2002 and 800 cars in 2003 it does not take a financial genius to figure out that the employee has to go.
In fact, in General Motors there are thousands of employees making exactly ZERO Cars each year and the company has to pay them anyway. No wonder General Motors is almost out of business.
If you think $18,000 a year is a low pay. Imagine how the workers of Mexico feel about a $1,800 a year salary.
Did you know in China you can hire a worker for $1 USD PER DAY?
If you work does not require a car the company is not going to pay for your car. However if your job requires a car (For example if you are in the insurance business and you need to travel to the place of the accident) you will get a company car.
Expenses accounts are for workers that travel.
For example, if you are an employee at Blockbuster there is no need for you to travel anywhere.
But if your job is to investigate a robbery for an insurance company (Like the woman on the film "The Thomas Crowne Affair" or the woman on the film "Entrampment")
" then you get an expense account.
Thousands of companies give Stocks to their employees.
One I know for sure is Microsoft. In fact, Microsoft is the company with more millionaire secretaries in the World.
You can check his company policies here:
If your company does not give you any shares just quit and work for a company that actually gives you shares.
On the other hand, you can always buy shares from any company if you open a brokerage account at ameritrade.com
That way, every time a CEO fires 10,000 employees in your company YOU MAKE MONEY.
Next 10,000 Employees fired: Bellsouth (AT&T is buying the company)
YOU DONT HAVE TO WORK FOR ANYBODY. YOU ARE FREE TO START YOUR OWN BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY TODAY.
Then you keep all the money and you do all the firing yourself.
How can the Economy collapse if every year companies make more and more money?
For a more scary scenario of the future I suggest you to see the film "Artificial Intelligence" starring Jude Law.
Did you know you can buy a robot to sweep your house or office for less than $200.00 at Best Buy?
I used to make $3 USD PER DAY as a waiter a long time ago.
I have to work over 12 hours to get that kind of money and it was hard work.
I did not like it very much but If I did not work I could die of starvation.
My waiter buddies used to go after work to grab a beer. I saved the money to buy a book for $30 USD (A lot of money for me) the book was a book about coctails and beverages. I could see the bartender make $30 USD PER DAY EASILY or 10 times more money than me.
So I decided I wanted to become a Bartender.
I read a lot and traing on my home (Using water and empty bottles)
One day the bartender got sick and they needed a bartender and that's when I entered the other side of the bar.
I worked as hard as I could and as fast as I could and everybody was so impressed that they actually fired the bartender and left me in his place (That day I make over $50 USD in a day!)
Eventually I started my own bar and later I hear about a company called "Merril Lynch"
I now make more than $30,000 PER DAY.
You can mae millions, but you need to stop complaining about the "Fat Cats" and become a "Fat Cat" yourself.
