Suddenly I am getting spammed on yahoo account?

Question:

I've had this account for years and its been spam free , now I am getting both very obscene stuff and also emails reagrding stock picks. The email looks like hijack of real emails. All IP addresses in the header seem ficticious or tough to track down. I can solve it by turing on full spam filters but then I begin to miss out on other e-mails I actually want

Anybody manage to fix this problem?

Answer:
You have been lucky until now. You or someone used your email address at a site or forum and it go found by a spammers Robot. These computers scan well known sites where email addresses are easy to aquire. Then they start spamming you.

Yahoo Mail Plus has the AddressGard feature that allow you to make disposable addresses for registering at sites etc. When you start getting spam to that address, simply delete the address and the spam stops. You can have up to 10 disposable addresses active at one time. After deleting one address, simly make a new one to replace it. This feature, alone, is worth the annual price of Mail Plus.

Just use the REPORT SPAM button on each one.

Ahhh, maybe you got that after you started using Answers?

Two options.
1. In your account settings you can tell it to block the addresses that send you spam (up to 500). Although that probably won't do any good.

2. Get a new account.

I have tried blocking these e-mails but it does not seem to work

for each email you think is spam just click on spam after you see it and it will go back to sender. for those you don't know never open them just spam them back or set a blocl list for them and delete them everyday.
some are spam and some try to hack into your account that will happen if you open any of the emails.
