I have about $2000?

Question:
I have about 2 grand and wanted to know how I can use that to make more money . if you have any suggestions I would be very grateful. I work for a bank so I am very familiar with CD's, bonds and all types of savings accounts and I'm not interested in any of them. If you know any other way i can mutiply my money legally please let me know. Oh and please just dont say "stock" be a little more specific . Thank You

Answer:
well, there isn't any legal way faster than investing it in something or someone. the question is how fast do you want it to grow? that's how you are going to determine the best vehicle out there.

one idea is to take it and invest in yourself and starting your own business. look at your skills and talents and see if there is something you have to offer that others do or don't do that you can do faster or cheaper, or be the first in your area to provide. that's probably going to be your fastest path.

read Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kyosaki and the Cash Flow Quadrant. the fastest way to investor is to own your own business.

otherwise i would just say find you some mutual funds that have perform pretty well, stay diversified, and try to keep investing. there is a story called "when 21,000 exceeds 102,000". the example is a 22 year old who starts investing 3k per year into their IRA for 7 years and then stops versus someone who waits until they are 29 to start and saves 3k every year until age 62. given a 10% return over those those years the 22 yewar old willl have approx 942k at age 62 versus the 29 year old's approx 903k. ther are some fine print rules that go with that, such as the exclusion of fees, but it's purpose is to show the power of compound interest, not a particular investment. Starting earlier equals better long term results.
try a money market account, or a high yeild savings account. They pay more interest (up to 4%) per year so your money is making money for you.
i'd buy a good mutual fund like AMO. they pay 9 1/2%.. mostly tech., but many other real good companies.
YOU COULD FIND TEN OTHER FRIENDS WHO ALSO WANT TO MULTIPLY DOLLARS..PURCHASE AND REPAIR A SMALL HOME AND FLIP IT IN A TIMELY MANNER AND SHARE THE PROFITS...OTHERWISE, THERES NOT MUCH ELSE WHICH COULD YIELD A NICE PROFIT ON SMALL SUMS.GOOD LUCK
well as you said you don't want to do cds or bonds. so here it is go out and find you about a 1500.00 truck that has a few miner problems( that will leave you 500.00 to work on it). fix it and resale it. for a profit for example: you find a 1993 ford f150. hoods paint is faded. buy it then have the hood fixed. then sit truck in yard for say 2995.00. no less than 2700.00. when it sales you just made 700.00 in less than a month. no investment is going to pay that in that short of time good luck
Ebaying? buy stuff and sell them off for more.

Options Trading? you don't have much for stocks, but a good start for options trading. Go to OptionsXpress Website or just google options trading.
try small transaction of conservative equity options (buy call or buy put) depending on your position, and trade the option itself, NOT the stock since with 2K you cannot really buy much.

Gold has gone up 20% in the last year, and an average of about 13% for each of the last five years. Maybe you could think about buying 3 one-ounce gold coins and locking them away, somewhere, for a year.
