How do I buy shares of a company about to float on the LSE?

Question:
If there is a company about to float on the London Stock Exchange, how do I go about buying their shares?
I do have a trading account set up. Do I have to wait for them to list before buying?
Is there a way I can get automatically notified when they do list? Any websites that would do this?

Lists up and coming floatations and info whether its an open public offer or private placement. If it a public offer then it will tell you who the broker is thats handling the floatation. Get in touch with them for a prospectus and usually in the prospectus there is an application form for shares.

Otherwise wait until it floats and buy after the event.
You put in a request to buy once the company floats. Like BT, they allocate shares and as the company floats, they become yours.

Unless there is a public offering as part of the float then yes, you need to try and catch it early on it's first day of trading if that is your strategy.
