How can I use RSS with My Yahoo! mail account for stocks news?
Question:
Answer:
Yahoo Mail does not have RSS. My Yahoo does. My Yahoo! takes advantage of the RSS publishing format to gather the content that you select from a variety of sources and to display that content in an abbreviated form in one convenient location—your My Yahoo! pages. This means that you don't have to visit many different sites individually to see what's new—you simply scan headlines or brief article summaries and click on a link to read the full text. Any site that supports RSS can be added to My Yahoo!, even if you you can't locate the source in the My Yahoo! content directory by searching or browsing. If you know the URL for the RSS content source, you can add it to your My Yahoo! page.
Here's How
Sites that support RSS are typically identified on web pages by a small, white-on-orange, rectangular XML icon (). To get the associated URL for the RSS file, click the icon, then copy the URL that appears in your browser's address bar. (You can ignore the XML code that is displayed in the browser.)
the problem with getting stock quotes via ANY rss is they won't be up to the minute (or even more than an hour old).
there are lots of stock widgets running around... look for them!
Yahoo does widgets, google does widgets, mac os x does widgets! All different.
