What happened to the Kmart stock that was owned by shareholders prior to the Sears buyout...?

Question:
My etrade account shows that I still own the shares but the value is $0 ? Please help.

Answer:
they were deemed worthless after the reorg. as most companies are after a chapter 11. keep them in your account and look at them for a reminder.
Ummm, you should check on that with your broker, or whoever you originally bought the stock from. You could have been RICH! Kmart stocked kicked a** after the bankruptcy filing and then dumped.

They were destroyed by Wal-Mart.

Sears now owns K-Mart. (This new company is not related in any way to the old K-Mart)
