Why do Jehovah's Witnesses ask for donations of money, jewelry, Bank accounts...?

Question:
Salable real estate, stocks and bonds, wills and trusts etc to their organisation, if, as I am told by Witnesses, Armageddon is going to happen at any time now. See The WATCHTOWER, November1, 2004 pages 22/23.

Answer:
Good question, and so true. This is the definitive organization who is the master at pulling off the "we are financially modest" scheme. Check out the following information...

Because they are all about money.
They all need Jesus.
Reminds me of the issue of Weekly World News I bought in 1999, where the front cover said "The World Will End January 1, 2000", yet right on the inside cover was a form for a yearly subscription.
greed !
Because they know there's one born every minute
The Rev Moon, big fraud of the Moonies, had mink fur seating in his Rolls Royce. The excuse? "God deserves the best". Join a cult, lose your brain !
I should think it's to fund the expansion of their group and pay for their large training holidays. They may also be supporting widows within their organisation. And of course building materials and printing the handouts and books. Overheads such as lighting and heating perhaps. I know lets ask them. Oh you just did>>>>looks to see if anyone gives and answer.
at least they dont ask for your BLOOD.i would not give them one penny.anyone who would rather let a child die than let them have a transfusion needs shooting.
I always though that was the Mormons. I know that they expect a percentage of your wage. I heard the church was rich. Wonder why.
No one is forced to give anything. If someone wants to donate to further the ministry, then that is fine. Collection plates are never passed at Kingdom Halls and tithing is not done, so we are not about money. We build our own places of worship to add no extra financial burden on the congregations. Christendom uses tithing, collection plates and hires contractors to build their churches. Who pays the bills for that? We conduct millions of free home Bible studies with people in over 235 lands at our own time and expense.
We have no paid clergy--all have secular jobs to support themselves and their families.
We do not have expensive statues and costly interior settings in our modest Kingdom Halls, like other places of worship.. Visit one and you will see for yourself.
Well if the watchtower says armageddon is going to happen soon, maybe theyre going to throw a massive party so we,re all that smashed we dont notice..!
Now aren't we just full of it. The witnesses have no need of such things, as they do not have elite leadership that demand to be paid. Take note of the watchtower web site and you couldn't contribute if you wanted to. The only place to contribute is a small wooden box at the rear of the congregation, and you would have to go to the Kingdom Hall to do it. A few scam artist have tried to say they were witnesses collecting money for such things as Katrina, but they are easily found out to be liars. The difference with the JWs and other religions. You can claim something to members of other religions and they believe it, but not so with the witnesses. If you're going to make up a fallacy, you can do better than this. These type of games only work on people of other religions who will believe anything they are told about the witnesses, because they don't know what it is really like to be one. Your life is lived in the light of Christ and God.
Judging by your many questions on Jehovah's Witnesses and your many allegations I think you seem to have an unhealthy and twisted fixation with them.
I do not know why you wish to discredit such meek people who just want to serve Jehovah God and do His will. I do not know what makes your clock tick but I will answer this wrongful allegation for the benefits of others.

Jehovah's Witnesses never ask for money of any kind or amount though like any organisation they need money to run they do so by voluntary contributions that those freely give and without compulsion.
If people have property or bonds etc they choose to give the society then that is their free choice and such people choose and want to do this. There is nothing underhanded in such ways to donate money and is honorary. Some people decide to leave such donations to charitable organisations.
What people who choose to do with their personal wealth is entirely up to them. The society does not ask or beg for any such donations - they do not need to as Jehovah's people are more than willing to donate to the society that helps all those around the entire earth.
I do not know why you try so hard to criminalise Jehovah's Witnesses but often such desperate attempts often do the opposite as people see behind the mask of the person making such allegations.

I have read the November 1 2004 Watchtower and even studied for the Watchtower Study. And yes Jehovah's Witnesses do recognise that we are living in the end times of this system of things. This is not uncommon knowledge to even those who are not Jehovah's Witnesses.
If they ask for money, how come the ones that come to my door do not ask for money, nor when we have a study, nor when I visit the Kingdom Hall.
Are you sure you are talking about real Jehovah's Witnesses?
There are 24 issues of 'The Watchtower' each year, all of which are distributed to any interested member of the public at no charge. Jehovah's Witnesses do not tithe, do not pass collection plates, and do not monitor the giving of any particular congregation member.

(Matthew 10:8) Your received free, give free

In one issue each year (generally November 1), 'The Watchtower' has an article which discusses the nature of its financial support, and mentions specific methods and instruments of charity. Please note the last point on this webpage:
We don't sale anything and we're not payed. Many people get this wrong idea because almost no one nowadays gives you something for free. You may wonder from where we have money? From donations. Anyone (usually members) can donate as much as he wants. There isn't a price. The most important thing is to do it from the heart.
No idea-I set my dogs on any who come round to my house so they are too busy running to ask me anything.
