I need ideas to help make my company look like an attractive employer?

Question:
I work for a small technology company. We have a great product that is used by very large international companies. I am working with marketing to over haul part of our site to make our employment opportunities create a brand for us as an "employer of choice".

Has anyone out there ever re-branded the employment opportunties? And if so, what are some of the best ideas you can float my direction?

Answer:
For the career section of your page you can put some pictures and testimonials of current employees. Why they have made the choice to join this small great company? Quote their answers. A brief resume or job description of that person upon click on their picture will create some kind of openness and will contribute to the involvement of a potential candidate.
Look for example yahoo avatars here. Sometimes don't you just click on them because you want to see more and when you see more don't you feel like participating more. The same thing with career page.

Other than just web page branding, I think a good idea will be to contact the career and placement centers of your local universities/ schools and offer 'employee for a day' program.

On the 'dark' side of branding yourself as attractive employer, you can constantly place announcements at the career sections of craigslist or kijiji. It is free publicity; your name is out there; you are not under obligation to hire anyone. However that's not cool and can have the opposite effect.

Wish you all the best in your branding and many great employees who will contribute to the success of your company.
It's not the look and feel of the web site that's going to get you employees. You need to give your employees a sense of purpose...like they're doing something that makes a difference. You also need to compensate them appropriately, and provide meaningful benefits like personal time off, flex time, health insurance, and a pre-tax flexible spending account for healthcare and dependent care.

Do that, and you'll become an employer of choice.
Include staff testimonials on your website. If it's a great place to work - get your staff to say why.
Try to contact this guy, at www.amped.co.za; he is a master at re-branded. He’s always helpful, and will give tips for free.
