Is it possible that God is a little less omniscient than we assume ??
Question:
for arguments sake, let's assume a God exists and created us.
To me, it would make sense if God was a little less omniscient than we all assume. He created us,believing that humans exist to LOVE.Like a scientist who invents something nuclear, yet never imagines that people also can do bad things with it.
God created us thinking we would be creatures with Pure Love. He probably never imagined we would do bad things with our freewill.Humans of Pure Love wouldn't care about stealing, because they would be happy that the thief gained something.
if this was true, then i would have much more understanding for a God created us.At least i think this makes more sense then the satan-crap which is invented by people who need an explanation for 'badness'.
Could it be possible that God created us thinking that we would be creatures with only feelings of Love, but that He just made an error in judgement, like almost all inventors do ??
Answer:
I spent five years of my life trying to understand this andother parts of ideas like this. And for all that searching, you come to realize that these is no absolute answers on a question like this. However, you said you assume a God, one that created us. From here on out is my thought process, no extra websites to look up, no extra references to any books.
Why does one create, and in God's case why did He create us? Could it have been that it was a selfish act? I don't believe it would be, since if it had been a selfish act why would we be given free will? Free will gives us the right to do as we wish, if God had been looking for something solely for Him, He would have definately skipped the whole free will thing.
Could it have been that we were created for, and out of, love? Our being so small, we couldn't hope to understand what God's condition was before the time of our creation, but we can assume that if He hadn't created anything yet that there was nothing there. I don't know about you, but I would be darn lonely out there in a void of nothingness with not even a single thing to talk to. In his wisdom, I am sure he wanted to have comapny, but company that would be itself and not something that would be a puppet. He needed something that could experience things for itself, think for itself, love on its own terms and not on His. I would be certain He could see that in creating something like this, there might have been the chance that it wouldn't choose to love Him. The next obvious thought is make a lot of it, and I dare say He did, look at how many of us there are!
Anyway, cutting a whole lot of details out, God made us out of love so that we may love Him back. Thats all He truely wants I believe, not that you go out and do these things this way and think that those guys over there are bad because they don't do it this way. I think that He just wants our love, but He is a good enough person to give us the choice; to love Him or not. If we have the choice of love or not, then He couldn't be omniscient it would ruin the whole effect. Even if he is omniscient, He could only see all our possible outcomes, not what we are going to choose, He'll have to wait with baited breath just like the rest of us.
I firmly believe that He is a lot more like a person you and I would be like than we give Him credit for. He has feelings, He gets angry, sad, worried, feels love and pain as well. Not in the same ways of course, He is a universial being and we're only little flesh and blood thingies right now. But I say that He is waiting to see what all of us are going to decide about Him. I say He's been one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I only met Him through a couple of books, a few other people, and just thinking about Him. My mind bursts at the thought of a personal meeting one day.
All in all, I think its up to you. It sounds like you already have an answer. I hope that maybe one day we can all know that God is a being of Love, and not debate the silly specifics about it. But I guess we'll see. ^^
(summary and disclaimers :P )
God is not omniscient.
God is a being of love.
He is waiting for us to decide if we like Him or not.
I used He and Him just to keep it all simple and clean, I think that God is beyond gender or any qualifier that we have.
I also don't mean to attack any religion what-so-ever, because I think you are entitled to your beliefes, and I thank you for it because without it think how boreing all of us would be. (gives me the chills thinking about a world where we're all the same.)
Sorry to ramble, and thanks for your time. ^^
A Himalayan Guru could answer that
You have an ugly eyeball.
According to the bible, God makes no mistakes at all. He's perfect, and all of his creations are perfect. So, no, that doesn't make sense to me. The brain of a serial killer is physically different from that of an average person. Now, that person is god's work as well as every other human, correct? The simple solution to this confusion is that there is no god. SCIENCE and NATURE often makes its own mistakes (take a look at hurricane katrina), so I would say Science has a better chance of explaining this than any unseen deity.
Ok, without reading all of the details (sorry I'm kinda lazy...)-God created EVERYTHING -so he knows EVERYTHING.you cannot create a world without making it so that you at least know what the hell is going on! you know?
Well, if you believe in god (which believe me, I don't) then I think that you have to accept his omnipotence and omniscience. The problem you have with a statement like that is that you've fundamentally changed the definition of god (in the Christian/Muslim/Jewish etc sense, as opposed to say the Egyptian pantheon or Mithraism). If you're going to believe you have to go for the whole package, otherwise you're probably praying to some weird space alien who created the race and has just realised they've made a terrible mistake...Either that or cut loose and go for the only logical option - there is no god, omniscient or not, his/her existence is a logical impossibility.
god might be less knowing than we like to think but he cannot be less all knowing
being a little less infinitely wise would seem to be like being a little bit pregnant
i like ur theory.
Nahhhhh, I don't think so ... Why would a perfect Creator make a judgement error - He knew all along what he was doing and what would be required - we're the ones who like to be deluded about pure love - Scripture says we are all born with hearts of evil intent - and if you're never had a child don't tell me they're not manipulating little brats - even if do choose to love them undconditionally - because they know exactly how to push our buttons. It's only through unconditional love and discipline that we learn. He also placed within each of us a desire to worship - and that is the part of each of us that so many choose to deny and it's that denial that leads us into taking all that is meant for good and turning it into bad.
God does not exist in the confining space we call time. Therefore, God sees everything from beginning to end. (He's called the Alpha and Omega ... beginning and the end.) He sees the big picture, so when He created us, He knew what was going to happen. Obviously, He sees more than we do, because there is a reason why He allowed us to happen and be created. When things "go wrong" for me, I just know that God is seeing the bigger picture in my life, and I place my trust in His will for my life. Besides, it's usually when I make all the plans without consulting Him that things go wrong. :) God is omniscient, completely. Why would I believe and trust in a God that would be anything less than perfect? If He wasn't perfect, He wouldn't be God!
U must be the dumbiest **** i have eva! its could Humans thats how we are some are nice some are bad and some are sick minded but thats wat describes Us! Life has to be balanced u cant always win! DUMB ****
"Could it be possible that God created us thinking that we would be creatures with only feelings of Love, but that He just made an error in judgement, like almost all inventors do ??"
No, if he made errors, he's not god.
Actually, according to the Bible, there's plenty of evidence that God chooses what he wants to know or not know, or that he is simply not all knowing. I didn't believe the commonly accepted theories of omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence even when I was following Christianity.
For a few examples... when God stops Abraham from sacrificing his son, He said that NOW He knew of A's fear of God.
It says He will FORGET our sins, it says He will say to some on Judgement Day "I never knew you."
If there is a god one of my first questions to him would be. How could you screw up so badly from the get go, with Adam and Eve. Didn't he just made his existence harder. He created this beautifully earth, took him a long time, and then created us so we can destroy his creation. So the god portrait in the bible is totally illogical.
OMNISCIENT:knowing everything,having very extensive knowledge.
This question is a cutey.I thinkCreator has thought of everything because of the All-Knowing part of Him but to ask such a question is from a soul that longs for God to not see with His own eyes the sadness we humans have placed upon the Earth. And that's Beautiful.Have we,as Creations, took for granted our ability to hear His Voice as well?Have we misplaced His presence because of our free will as He might have misplaced our capability to sin because of His LOVE?
It is very possible that you missunderstand God, just like many many people today and in the past! God 's creations were all perfect so were the first human couple as well as the devil but God gave his spirit sons and humans the free will to chose their actions. That was not a mistake, no, that was love on his part, he could have created us like a scientis create a robot, say, without free will, but he didn't he gave us free will! Now one of his spirit sons became too peoccupired with his own beauty and intelligence and started to desire the worship of God's newly created human couple, who would procreate and fill the earth,he did not dismiss this wrong desire but thought about it untill he actually put it into action by deceiving the first woman into disobeying God and then also into getting her husband to disobey God as well, all that was not a mistake on the part of God, but he did not intend for anyone to decide to interfear with His purpose and change everything in a very roten way!No it was not in Gods plans or purpose for man to turn out this way but that does not make hisw creation in errorerror was introduced by a different person who decided to turn against Godand Yes God could have destroyed them all and started again, but would that prove to the other angelsThat Gods way is right another angel down the track could have decided that maybe the devil was rightin saying that his own way was better. So God chose to let mankind go on their chosen path and see for themselves that way isn't good, and we can see today how bad it really is. That is those who do not allow the devil to blind them! The devils blinding work is visible by the things many people are saying about God! Blaming God for all the atrocities that are in the world today. Not believing in the existance of God. How would you feel looking down on your creations if you were God and saw the destruction of your purposes? so really God is a lot more omiscient than humans imagineNo we humans make mistakes not God he doesn't!
