Answer:
While you may have hired PTI to do the paperwork for you, the patent registration should be with the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office).
NOLO is a great, free informational site. Also, be sure to read what the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) has to say about patents.

I would do some market research, contact a few engineers to design a prototype, ask a few local stores if they would consider carrying your product.
Check out your local universities, There's one in my area that works with inventions, patents etc. It's a free resource.
Here's a couple of links you can get some legit info from.
They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck.
You need to think of who is your target customer. What stores would want to carry it, how big is the market, is it needed, will people buy it and for how much? Then you need to consider if you have the ability to manufacture it, or should you license the idea to a company that can take it nationally. If you can manufacture the item, can you meet the potential demand? A Walmart store sells hundreds of the same product in an hour. How many Walmarts are around you...do the math. You will need to pick a manufacturing company wisely. You want quality work. Also consider, will they try to sell knock offs?
Then, create a presentation and find a buyer of a retail chain. You sell once to them, they sell many times over.
