Did any of the politicians,inventors,adv... in our nations past have problems with drugs?
Question:
Answer:
Apparently, Mr. Freud had a cocaine problem. But they were not called "problems" then. We really do not realize how many millions were addicted to drugs (cocaine, morphine, etc.) during the 19th century. The reason why they are illegal is that when they were legal, one had many people addicted to these drugs going out and doing their job anyway . . . drivers, teachers, nurses, especially nurses and doctors.
FRANCIS CRICK, the Nobel Prize-winning father of modern genetics, was under the influence of LSD when he first deduced the double-helix structure of DNA nearly 50 years ago.
The History Channel did a great documentary on the history of drugs in the United States. If you go to their website perhaps you can get some details. I do remember from the show that Freud touted cocaine as a cure for depression and lethargy.
