Where could I find a student loan for college if my credit is poor and I can't find a cosigner?

Question:
I need a student loan before I can continue on to my second year of college and I don't have a good enough job to just pay for it out of my pocket, but my credit is not good enough for me to not need a cosigner. If anyone knows of a place where I could get a student loan that would be fantastic, please let me know!

Answer:
If you fill out the FAFSA you may qualify for a need based Stafford loan or an unsubsidized stafford loan. Your credit doesn't matter and you don't need a cosigner (trust me I know!) Once you get the Master Promissory Note choose Sallie Mae as you lender they are easy to work with!!
Your credit does not matter for a FISA loan and you do not have to pay it back until you either graduate or starting 6 months after you stop taking classes. You should be able to get around the parental verification step, ask your college financial aid manager.
I would go to the College Loan Corporation website (collegeloan.com) and see if they have the type of loan you need. My boyfriend just consolidated his loans through them and they have decent rates. Hope this helps!
