Weill Cornell Medical College?
Question:
I was wondering if Weill Cornell Medical College offers scholarships...
I heard that it does but only for special cases, i.e for outstanding students, valedictorians, etc... is it true?
If so, what are the college's standards for those students? For example, would a student who gets straight A's have the odds on his side? Or does the college only offer scholarships to those of exceptional genius?
Thank you very much,
And I wish you a peaceful day/night (wherever you are...)
Answer:
From their website:
WMC enjoys one of the largest internal scholarship and loan programs of any private medical school. The applicant's financial status, or an application for financial aid, is not a factor in the decision to accept an applicant to WMC.
All financial aid is based on need, as determined by WMC. While most medical students borrow money to help finance their education, WMC's robust financial aid program means that its graduates have debt that is lower, on average, than graduates of other private and even of public medical schools.
All loans from WMC are subsidized, and tuition grants from Cornell are generous. All recipients meet at least annually with WMC financial aid counselors to review their aid packages and to plan for financial management after graduation.
Further information and actual costs are available at the time of interview.
