I need help my child recieved a scholarship to attend college but it did not cover room and board I have applied for various loans and I do not qualify due to my credit history what can I do to help my child i dont want her to have to come home because of financial reasons. She needs to have a co signer for a loan for herself and we are stuck any suggestions on what to do?
Answer:
She should be able to get student loans without a co-signer. The other options are for her to apply for more scholarships and to get a job to pay her expenses. If she cannot afford this college, perhaps she should go to a less expensive school. State universitys are cheaper than private colleges and community colleges are a cheaper way to start any college education. It sounds like it is time to be realistic about what she can do.
Let her work like the rest of us.
