Can you take a yr. off college, get your own place, then go back and recieve more financial aid?
Question:
Answer:
NOT ALWAYS. The federal definition of an independent student for financial aid purposes is different than what you might expect. To automatically qualify as independent you have to be at least one of the following; a veteran, in a graduate program, married, have a dependent, be over 24 years old, or be an orphan or ward of the court. So simply living on your own does not make you independent automatically, it is up to the college to decide. Many colleges have strict rules on this and may require you to submit paperwork proving you have been on your own for more than a year. I would ask the colleges you are interested in what their policies are before you move out.
Yes, as long as you qualify. You will probably find it hard to get a scholarship though.
you have gooder english dude. you need to learn more. next time think before you act loser. you could have cost your career.
You might even be more lucky living on your own and able to qualify for a lot of different grants and such. You just have to do a little bit of research into this and call the university and ask what youc an qualify for, now. Money is out there for the dummest things and ready to be snatched up to use! Good luck!
It might be easier...b/c you won't be a dependent. I know for my self...after leaving my parent's house and living with my fiance made me a better candidate and I got more money this year then what I did last year.
it will not cut off but you will have to pay any loans that you got in the past, i think it is like a six month deadline thing
