Im a high school grad.. i want to grad .. im currently in US..but cannot afford college. PLS HELP??
Question:
you can get a scholarship if you top out on the GRE (i'm not sure about the toefl) but we're talking scoring in the 99.9th percentile. there are other ways to get money for college, you just have to do some research. firstly, you can apply for financial aid by filling out the FAFSA - if you are finanacially independent of your parents, they will probably grant you some money. you will have to prove that they are not claiming you as a dependent by submitting tax records. secondly, you can apply for work-study, which will allow you to work part-time and attend school simultaneously. lots of schools also offer RA (resident-advisor) programs in which you live in a dormitory and direct other students. most of the time you have to be older than a 1st year to apply, but a typical RA will recieve room and board for free, leaving only the cost of books and classes. you could also grab a full-time job and start off in a community college. if you knock em dead with grades your first year, applying to a BA program should be easier, and will probably be more cost-effective for you.
