Im trying to get information on the different types of college scholarships that might be available.?

Question:
Probably will not qualify for financial aid.

Answer:
There is school aid, federal aid, and private scholarships available in financial aid.

First, it is still worth a try to apply for federal aid. It comes in two forms either a grant or a loan. Colleges and universities do offer money based on this form, so it is still worth a try. It is located at fafsa.ed.gov.

Second, there is school aid. It is money that the school has received from donors over time through fundraising drives. It also has a financial aid office which distributes scholarships and grants to its students. Most colleges and universities also list a number of private scholarships.

Finally, there are private scholarships and comes from private companies and organizations. You have to fill out an application and return it before the deadline. Often, it includes an essay portion. I have listed several free membership scholarship listing websites. Most of the websites are updated on a regular basis. I recommend viewing the website before writing the essay portion.

Good luck!
Have you visited the fasfa web site for federal aid programs? It is located at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

It is free. You fill out the forms and it lets you know what federal programs you are eligible for.

For specific scolarships you would need to contact some colleges you are interested in and they should be able to send you information.
Go to fastweb.com. They have all kinds of scholarship options for students. Trust me, my inbox gets crammed with new scholarships that come up. GOOD LUCK!
Your best chance of getting a scholarship isn't with the outside scholarships. Thousands of people apply for them, especially the big ones (over $1000). I'd try this. Look into colleges that have what you are looking for but rather than being in the lower half of the incoming class, be near the top and got into the Honors program. They usually have scholarships that are substantial since they really want you and your brain. Some have you apply for the scholarships and some come automatically with the Honors designation. Even if you have to apply, the number that do is smaller so your chances are a lot better.
