Will my child support stop once my daughter turns 18...is he legally responsible to help pay for her college?
Question:
It varies from state to state.
depends on the state in which you were divorced and what the terms of your divorce settlement were
I don't think so, unless it was written into a divorce agreement.
I dont think he has to help pay for tuitoin or whatever but ive seen cases where the child support gets extended until the child graduates college or turns like 20 something. check into it.
the child support will stop when your child turns 18. i think if your child goes to college then your ex may be respmsible to keep her on his insurance, unless she drops below full time. you and your ex should help your daughter while she is in college, but it is up to you. your daughter can get a job as well to help. i waited tables at red lobster all thru my college career and i made good money. there are also grants she can get, lottery assistance, and there are great stafford student loans that have a very little interest rate. if she does well in high school scholarships will be available as well.
