Would you rent your college textbooks for half the price?
Question:
Would you rent your college textbooks for 10 dollars a month?
Would you pay a secuiry deposit of 50 dollars (like an appartment) and get it back after the book was returned?
You are free to write in the book, but it must be returned in fair condition.
Answer:
It depends on the book... if it's over $40 or so, I'd rent it, since a semester usually isn't more than 4 months. That would save me a lot of money...
I wouldn't mind paying a security deposit, either, as long as I knew that I was guaranteed to get the full thing back after I turn the book back in. This idea would really help some of the students who scrape up change to buy ramen and shop for everything at the dollar store (me included).
No, because a lot of students would never return them.
Instead I'd sell them and not back to the college bookstore where they only pay you a dime per textbook.
I sold my Calculus book on ebay for $50 and chemistry book for $50 on ebay too. I have sold other texts on Amazon. The internet is the best place to sell books to other students.
