Help a U.S Soldier Out With College Issues?

Question:
I plan to go to college in 2010 I have time but still.
I plan to go to Fullsail in there Recording arts program. I have been a soldier for 4 years when i get out ill have served 6 years.I have the G.I Bill that im goin to use.Price for
School is like 50,000
How will I pay for college when i get out?
From what ive heard the G.I is like 1,000 a month thats enough
to pay housing becouse the school doesnt have on campus housing. The hours at the school are crazy 40 hours a week and there both day and night so I probably wont be able to get a job so how will i pay for it?
Also graduating i might have to be an intern.so money for living when i get out is ganna be another issue.
In the army i can retire at 39 and i have a garenteed paycheck IM THINKING is it worth it.I have a car payment and insurence i have to pay.Is working at what i love doin, enough reason to put every at risk.army is not bad but not for me
If worst comes ill just enlist again thats my last resort

help!

Answer:
You know, I have a 2 year degree that NO ONE has ever asked me about in a job interview. There are some fields where a degree is mandatory, and some where, ehh, it's really not that important. Have you talked to anyone who's graduated from this program? Are they getting better jobs because of the degree? That's something to really research before you spend your hard earned cash.

If you're thinking of staying in for financial security, why not work part time in your off duty hours, or do a free volunteer position, with a company where you're doing the recording job?? If that's available, the experience and the reference would be worth almost as much as the college degree when you retire from the military.

And as a retiree, I can tell you that pension is SWEET at the age of 39, you've still got plenty of time to do a whole different career and get the pension, too.. :) Just a thought.
It sounds like a the school might be a non-traditional type of school I am sure that they have financial counselors there that would help with your GI Bill. I dont remember what Montgomery GI Bill pays per month now but it probably is around 1000 a month. Other than that you need to look at civilian employment and going to school like the rest of us did. You might need to go to another school to get basics out of the way..I am assuming that you are pursuing a 4yr degree. While you are still in are you utilizing College of the Americas.you get college courses for free while still a memeber of the armed services. If you are looking at technical school you might need to check that they even accept Montgomery GI Bill.I would haev to check but I think you can only use GI Bill for degree programs.
