Would College students pay a low cost to have their laundry done for them, folded and delivered at their door?
Question:
Answer:
I don't know if all colleges has implemented this yet, but where I go, they have implemented a "Prepaid" laundry service. We pay $25 for the duration of the semester and we can use the washers/dryers as much as we want. We must provide the laundry detergent and the dryer fabric sheets, but that is it. Plus, there is no option for us to reject this either. They automatically add this charge onto our tuition so we have to use this service. So to all university students that must prepay to use the laundry facilities, they wouldn't use an outside service when the university is already charging them to use the on-campus laundry facilities.
But it seems like a good idea. I am sure busy college students might like the service, but for people with increase in tuition due to the prepaid laundry facilities, they wouldn't be interested, unless the university would give us an option and if the outside laundry service is no more than $30 for 4 months.
absolutely. that's a great idea.
yea
Good idea! BUT..... dont you think going to college/uni is about learning about LIFE. Wouldnt every working person love to have a LOW COST laundry service do the same for them?
Sooner or later, college/uni students actually have to face up to real life, and unfortunately, laundry, along with washing dishes, making beds, dusting and hoovering etc are all part of it. Working people have a hard time fitting the menial chores into their lives too - why should students be pandered to? In theory, this is a good idea, but when you actually think about the ethics of it, perhaps they should be taking responsiblity for themselves at this age.
At many colleges, there are local laundries that do everything the same as you other than the delivery. This is cheaper than your idea since you need extra people. I'm not sure the students would pay the premium. Also, what do you do if they aren't in the dorm when you try to deliver?
