Best price on a new Nissan Versa or competitor?

Question:
My parents promised me that if I got a scholarship for college, they would give me $10K to get a new car when I graduated high school. I've also saved up about $4K of my own money. I think I'd really like to use the money I've saved up and get a little brand new car.

I like the Honda Fit, but not so much the Yaris or Aveo. My favorite by far is the Versa. Is it a good car for a teenage girl?

What can I expect to pay for the Versa S (PW, PDL, AT, but nothing too fancy beyond that)? I've been looking around a lot and the dealer price seems to be around $15K. Will they deal off this price, or is the Versa too new? How much should I expect to pay out the door? Of course, none of the dealers will give me a straight answer.

I've also been looking at used ('05, '06) Corolla's, Focus's, Sentra's, etc. Am I better off going with something a year or 2 older or paying a little more for a new car I like better?

Answer:
Well, if ur goin into college, u need something reliable.

Versa just came out so it has its new problems and such.

Corollas are its last year with the current model('08 has major changes).

Get a honda fit or civic.
