Is it okay to discuss how blacks are underrepresented but not whites? ex. lack of white recruiting in sports?

Question:
It seems that in the US it is perfectly fine to discuss how underrepresented blacks are in society such as leading roles in acting, politics, coaching professional sports teams and others but it is not okay to do the same for whites or even other minorities. Such as the fact that whites are not recruited heavily as blacks in sports and there are more minority scholarships than there are scholarships for everyone? Is the point of equality to be equal or what? I just want to know since everyone's definition of equality seems to be different. This is not a racist question for those of you that would like it to be. I would just like to know how the general populace feels.

Answer:
Just send all the Blacks back to Africa. Lets see how well their sporting career goes back there in their homeland.
Ever heard the fraise, "white man cant jump"? (its true)
As neither black or vanilla face, i can tell you that blacks are just better at sports than everyone else.

Simple.
Whites do not have the same problem of prejudice against them. A certain hiring quota system was necessary in some states untl they could prove that they had gotten over their prejudices. So we tend to keep a careful eye on situations to make sure they are not being prejudiced against, since they still do not have the political power whites have. Whites do not need the same protection.
great point. white has become the new black. sad.
dude youre all mixed up. you cant compare college recruiting to politics
The reason there is so much focus on making sure that Blacks are equally represented is because of the history of racism in the U.S. which they have experienced. This racism, I know you'll be surprised to hear this, disadvantaged them. Most people feel they should have equality now so long as they don't have to make any personal sacrifices in order for African Americans to recieve it.

Minority scholarships for instance are meant to correct desegregation. If you recall, schools were separate and entirely unequal. This prevented African American from getting equal education. The children of parents who received poor educations need more financial assistance because their parents are less likely to be able to give it to them. The poorly educated, after all, are more likely to be poor.

Because sports was commonly seen as an acceptable profession for Blacks they were allowed onto the playing field at a greater rate than into the office. Therefore, more Blacks saw this as an avenue for success and worked hard to achieve it. It would be ridiculous at this point to penalize them for taking, in mass, what was one of the few available out lets. So we focus on the number in the fields were they are under represented because these are they areas where they have had a more difficult time entering
WHITES were not enslaved and have not had their rights taken away, that is why. Blacks, Hispanics, Native-Americans (many more) have been victims of racism, lack of opportunities, and they would benefit from scholarships (the ones that are financially-burdened) to try to get them to attend college in higher numbers. That IS trying to make it fair for everybody. All races should be represented in colleges in similar numbers.
Also recruiters are looking for TALENTED athletes, regardless of the race. Maybe you are jealous because you aren't good at sports.
My, my, my... just 30 years ago the complaint was about the lack of black recruiting in sports. Now the complaints are on the other foot. This is like a pendulum that swings back and forth every generation. If you live long enough you'll see the politically correct climate change so I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it now. Peace!
