NCAA ruling?

Question:
Does the NCAA punish the student athletes more than the colleges for violations? Schools will loose scholarships and pay a "little" fine and that's it. The student that could have received the scholarship is the one suffering more than anybody. The team couldn't care less if some practice squad player will get a scholarship or not. The student is the one loosing out on a lot of money.
I think the NCAA should heavily fine the school and may be take away the right to bowl games instead of scholarships. May be even punishing the school by making them donate the earnings from home games. What other penalties do you think would be more appropriate?

Answer:
Good Question, and I totally agree but because the way the NCAA is set up, they loose alot more than just some scholarships, schools with huge expectations that can't get the great players yearly (Oregon, ALabama, Clemson, Nebraska) can't afford to loose scholarships because it makes you look bad, which hurts recruiting and recruiting is how NCAA teams become great. So there is alot more involved than just loosing scholarships, some of the stuff that happens should not allow the schools to go to a bowl game. The Miami-FIU brawl is a good example, the both lost guys to suspension and lost scholarships, but ultimatley, they lost a few recruits that good help there team, they lost fan support (one game only 28,000 people showed to a game, kind of a boycott). so there is a lot more at stake.
Are you talking about USC? I agree.
