What can I do to pay for college when I don't have any money?
Question:
What can I do?
My parents make too much money, so that's why I don't qualify for financial aid, but I also have 2 older siblings that're already in college they have to pay for. And, they also have lots of other things they have to pay, which is why they can't help me a whole lot.
I think the only thing I can do right now is try to get some credit cards, get a job, and get some personal loans, but I don't know. I guess I can't go to college after all...
If you have any advice, please say something...
Thanks!
Answer:
Don't use credit cards for college loans. It is a huge mistake. I have heard that too many bad things happened to college students when they use their credit cards. Once they graduated from colleges, they were in very "deep" debt. Because they could not keep up with the monthly payments or could not pay them on time because of high interest.rates Some of them have gone bankrupted. So you don't want to do that and have a bad credit report. Try to talk to financial consultants at different banks and get the best option with the lowest interest rate you can get. Or talk to your relatives and friends (to whom you can trust) who have financial backgrounds. My son joined Air Force ROTC when he began his freshman last year at a private college where the tutition fee is very expensive, and then he finally got a scholarship this year. Now everything is paid for. We only paid for the first semester and the dorm room. The goal is to get a scholarship by maintaining the good grades. The other option is to go to your local community college for the first two years and then transfer to other college to obtain a bachelors degree. The community college tutition fee is reasonable and get the used college books instead of new ones for the cheaper cost. Good Luck!

Agree with other suggestion in here, one more option that you can consider to have a job and try to continue your study with part-time.
They are a lot of people is doing this, and there is nothing wrong with this method. In fact, this method to ensure you obtain work experience as well as your professional education knowledge..
Good Luck
Take out student loans. Make sure it is only what you need. And don't screw up! Otherwise, you will be owing the lenders thousands of dollars for nothing. You have to make sure that you do well, er...good enough in school to graduate. You might want to get a part-time job, but don't over do it. You might also start to party a lot more, but don't be dumb about it--moderation is the key. You really have to be strong and smart enough to pull this off and avoid screwing yourself in the end. Do not feel that you NEED anyone. Depend on yourself, get it yourself. That's too bad that your parents make too much and did not think of saving up for you and your siblings. Oh, and it would probably help if you major in a money making field.
get a job,
find any grants that may be available to you by consulting the appropriate counselor. You may find one in your highschool/x-highschool, or at a local community college.
first consider whether college is something you rally want to do, or really need to get where you want to be in life.
also, find a cheap school whose credits transfer to the on you really want to go to, if you really want to go. no sense in paying for namebrand when the other is just as good.
Have you tried to apply for an unsubsidized stafford loan? These are given out regardless of financial need. You should at least try this before taking out credit cards or getting a private loan.
you can apply for student loans. AND STAY AWAY FROM THE CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!!!...
