Highschool and college??

Question:
Ok... I am going into 9th grade. The problem is me and my friend both want to be marine bioligists, which is going to be hard for us because neither of us can pay for 8 years in college. So anotherwards, we need to earn a scholarship. Neither of us do GREAT in school I mean we get a's and b's and an occasional c. But we both have decided we are going to have good lives in which we are trying to crack into shape now. We need to do better in school. I want suggestions so I can start planning now for what lies ahead in highshool. Suggestions...?

Answer:
my suggestion is get good grades in high school, apply for college ur senior yr, and get a job and save some money. also college isn't that bad...you can qualify for financial aid, which helps u pay for college...i'm in college and my degree is 10 yrs long..but you should never give up. All the best
When it comes to get better greades it is all on you. Take a variety of classes and participate in after school activities (seriously, try to get a leadship position in one of them, even if the club is not the coolest). Get a job at a company that will help pay for your colleg tuition (best buy is a really good company for covering the bill, you have to pay up front but you get it all back). Also there is FAFSA, where you can get scholarships and also college tution help and loans (you have to qualify). Also go right away to your guidance counsler to discuss options, tell him/her what you want to do, where you want to go and discuss scholarship options. They will help big time. I needed money for school and told my guidance counsler, she nominated me for some scholarships and I got like 2, which paid for a whole year of community college. That is also a good investment, community college is much more cost effective. Best of luck.
There are a lot of opportunities out there for financial aid. Some are merit-based awards. You can have a shot at these if you get at least a B+ average from now on and do really well on your SATs. Take practice exams for this and study really hard. Some financial aid is need-based. If the school really agrees that you can't afford them, but you definitely qualify, sometimes they will give you a grant that will lower tuition for you. Also, there are a lot of student loan programs out there that will allow you to borrow money at low interest rates, and you don't have to start paying on them until you are 6 months out of school.

Don't let money come in between you and your dreams.

As for right now, you may have to become nerdy. Study a lot. Ask lots of questions and get a tutor if you have to. Ask your teachers if you can get help from them during study hall. You can do this if you put your mind to it!!

Good luck!!
Screw marine biology and do something practical like accounting. Now that's a job that's in high demand, good pay, and only requires a bachelor's degree.

Work your *** off in high school so you get scholarships to decent colleges. That's what sensible people do.

It's time is start getting serious about your life.
