Verbal commitment to usc. please read?

Question:
i dont know if anyone you have heard it. if u havnt u can search ryan boatright or something. but he is a 14 year old kid and he hasnt even played one game of highschool hes going to be a freshman this upcoming year and play on the varsity team but do u think it was a good idea for USC to give this kid a scholarship if he hasnt even played one game of highschool??

fyi: hes a 5'10" point guard

Answer:
USC hasn't given this kid a scholarship.yet. The only thing that is in place right now is a verbal commitment form the kid to attend USC down the road. If he turns out to be crap, USC does not have to offer him a scholarship or if the kid thinks USC isn't right for him, he can choose to go to another school. Nothing is really in writing at this point and both sides have the right to change their minds on this one. What the point of a verbal agreement with a 14 year old is, I can't answer.
They haven't given him an actual scolarship yet, he just has a verbal agreement with them so that if he turns out to be great then they got him in the bag but if he sucks than they can just forget about him.
