You better play some GOOD SOCCER!
Been there, done that, (even though I'm not German)
You will have to apply to a college because the gymnasium is still some kinds of high school.
Just take SAT, TOEFL, some college may ask you for 2 or 3 SAT II tests, get the highest score possible.
Apply to at least 7 colleges that have the major you like: 2 for sure you will get in, 3 at a medium range, 2 at risk.
File financial forms that the colleges require.
You have further questions, ask, people here will help (I hope).
SAT or ACT test scores, TOEFL scores, GPA (grade point average) and graduating class rank will be asked for for scholarships.
Your transcripts will need to be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) www.wes.org. Most universities will not accept transcripts from a foreign university.
Also, most universities have deadlines for international students, so get the transcripts to WES ASAP. They tend to have a slow rate of evaluation. Usually the deadlines are 2-4 months before semester begins.
