they will probably be eligible for financial aid, loans and scholarships. there are many types of scholarships - not just for athletics.
But savings is still the best way as not all aid and scholarships cover the incidentals.
I have found that the pre paid college plans are a dynamite way to save for college.
Every child is eligible to apply for financial aid. It seems as though you will be all set for your child to receive a Pell grant from the government. It is always a good idea to save money, Most private universities will accept the Pell grant but then an additional loan must be applied for by you and your child. Most often, these loans are expensive but the FASA ( PELL grant ) helps and is each year. Scholarships are also an option so start having your child apply now through the school and in the community. Civic engagement is very important and builds character. Good Luck.

Hi,
There are a lot of scholarships available. I suggest going to Google and conducting a search from there. I actually won a $5,000 scholarship about a year ago, and I recently found another contest by the same company for a $10,000 scholarship. It's free to enter, so there's no reason not to.

Good Luck!
I can save money for their college. There are States that provide a college savings plan. Also, why not pushed you kids into becoming involved in community affairs and possible sports, so they can get a scholarship. I know parents want to provide for their children, and that is great, but the kids need to be just as dedicated in getting into college too. This is the time for them to create the path that will lead them to their dream careers. Good luck.
