Division 1 college baseball?

Question:
I really want to play college baseball and its my dream to play at a division 1 college, now the problem is that where I play is that not many scouts come to watch our games and I know im not going to get a scholarship for any division 1 school. So how are my chances if I contact the coach about trying out as a walk on and sending him tapes of my games, and in those games i dominate. Would my chances of possibly making it increase?

Answer:
My best advice to you is send a tape out to the coach or a few schools of your interest, just to get your name out there and in the midst of doing that always give a call expressing your interest to be a walk on. I am 100 percent sure they will give you an opportunity to try out and to prove yourself. Normally depending on the D1 school they might have no more than 2 positions available to be a walk on. Normally there is an open try out, with that being said they also ask you to try out during the practices. But if you want to get noticed give a call, maybe even visit the school, and truly express that you want to prove yourself to play on D1 team and who knows you might get a full or partial scholarship for your hardwork. Best of luck
I'M GOING TO PLAY BASEBALL FOR THE MIAMI HURRICANES OR OKLAHOMA SOONERS. YOU SHOULD BE A WALK ON DEPENDING ON HOW GOOD YOU ARE. IF YOU'RE NOT GOOD THEN DON'T GO TO OKLAHOMA OR OREGON STATE OR U.N.C. BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT PLAY MUCH. GOOD LUCK MAN. I'M GOING TO COLLEGE TO GET SEASONING BEFORE I GET DRAFTED. I HOPE I SEE YOU IN THE MAJORS MAN.
my cousin play for north carolina, now if you want to be a walk on thats one way but ou can also take tape of you playing u make sort of a high light real and send it to all the schools your interested in.Ask your Coach to help you
The best way would be to go play junior college. I was at the Junior College World Series and I was talking to some of the players during a rain delay and in between games and some of their guys were going to play for Ohio and Ohio State. So if not many scouts come to your games or if your not D1 talent yet i would go to JUCO and hopefully get noticed.
how tall are you? and what position do you play? if you are under 5'10 and you aren't blazing fast it will be tough. Size and speed are the 2 things coaches look at in walk ons/. there will be 100 guys just like you trying to get the coaches attention, especially at D 1. i walked on D 3 and that was hard.
be prepared to work twice as hard as anyone else (without trying to kiss ***)
