Scholarships for disabled?
Question:
Answer:
There are a variety of scholarships for persons with disabilities. There's no overall database/listing (that I know of) but here's some places you should check:
Spina bifida Association--its likely (in fact I think I've heard of one) they have a program to provide scholarships and grants--or at least can help you contact/find organizations that do.
Check with the financial aid office of the college you will be attending--often states havespecial grant/scholaarships. Tell them you have a disability and ask how to go about applying for any scholarships you would be eligible for
Check with the college's Office of Disability Services. They will also have information--and may have some funding available as well. At my alma mater, for example, that office provides several scholarships to disabled students from an endowment provided by an alumnus.
Check with your stateDepartment of Vocational Rehabilitation. They may have funding available that you would be eligible for.
Good luck! :)
I'm sure your school or local disability service can provide you with one. I personally never took anything like that, I don't like the idea of getting grants, and stuff like that just for being disabled.
