What do you think of college?

Question:

just wondering. sure , if you have a high demand job in the medical field, or an unexciting career its easy to get good pay and make a living from it. but im 19 and at my job i work with people who went to college and have degrees, and ended up where i am at and me just out of high school. so i was wondering what you think the percent is of people that attend college to people that actually stick lifelong with their career. because if i get myself into debt i want to make sure it will be worth it. and i hate having to pay such rediculous costs and make other people rich while i slave away for many years trying to pay off my debt and find a job.

I think college is the best place on earth for college students !!
They seem to thrive there !!

As far as college being an automatic guarantee of great jobs and pay---this is not always the case .
The absolute best thing for an individual (when it comes to the job security thing) is to find a career field that they absolutely love to work with and give it every effort to learn and progress within THAT---it is within the actual quality of PERFORMANCE within that field that an individual sees the fruits of their labors and the stability of their career-----I have never ever actually heard of anyone being kept in a position of any sort simply because they had a degree unless they could actually perform quallity work to go along with that piece of paper !

i dont think of college becuase i think of University

I say just go get your self a job down at the feuling station. They're always hiring, you can drink beer while you work if you take graveyard shift and watch t.v..
Couldn't ask for a better life than that, no debt neither.

Well, have you thought of going to college to get an education. Learning for the sake of learning? That is another reason to go to college and I don't think most people stay in their chosen fields. The market changes, life changes, things happen. But I would never see college as a waste.

BTW--if you have such a great job with good pay, you should be able to afford to go part time or won't your employer pay for it
