Can FAFSA pay for my dorm in college also?

Question:

Answer:
I don't believe FAFSA pays for anything. It's a for used to determine if you're eligible for state and/or federal financial aid (which takes the for of scholarships, grants, and low or no-interest loans). I'm fairly sure that you can use any financial aid awarded based on your FAFSA for dorm expenses. Your best bet would be to go to the financial aid office at your school and ask about it.
Yes, FAFSA also covers room & board. This includes meal-plans if your college offers it and also books. However your classes may have already begun by the time you've received money for your books. It all depends on how efficient the financial aid office and staff are at the college you are attending.
definitely..make sure you indicate that you will be living on campus in the application.
i know financial aid does cover housing if you meet eligibility requirements. i know you can take out a student loan if it doesn't. if your tuition is high it may not. you should meet with a counselor to discuss this because i was not aware of how much money is available until after i graduated and wish i had known at the time. good luck!
FAFSA doesn't pay for anything. it's just a form that u fill out that helps the government determine how much financial aid u r eligible for. U will get a report mailed to u and that report will tell u how much much state and federal aid u will get. this includes loans and grants. if u have enough to cover your tuition then u can use the remainder to pay for housing and books or whatever u please
