I scored 224 on the 2006 PSAT as a sophomore. Do I have a good chace at getting a full ride to college?

Question:
I come from a low-middle class, single parent household, so I need a lot of money from scholarships and financial aid. I'm worried that this will greatly limit my options to state schools. I'd like to go to a more prestigious college, but I don't want to be drowned in debt. I predict that my score will not fall beneath 215 in the worst case scenario when I take it next year, when it really counts. I am a 15 year old Chinese girl and live in Illinois. I aspire to go into the medical field, but money troubles could send that dream crashing from the sky.

Answer:
You will probably qualify to be at least a National Merit Semi-Finalist next year. I scored a 212 and I am a Semi-Finalist, so unless the national class of high school sophomores is really that smart, you should qualify.

If you apply to prestigious colleges, do not expect a full ride. Elite universities have thousands of students applying with equal or superior credentials as you would probably have, so keep expectations reasonable. Volunteer, join many clubs, and take hard classes. Good luck!
If you are going into a medical career do not worry about the cost. Study hard, do the best you can on the exams, get into the best school you can and take out loans as needed. When you graduate most states will pay off your college loans when you work in a state run institution for a set period----well worth it. A close relative is having her dental school costs ($250,000.) paid off by the state of CA.
of course yes u pass the PSAT test with great score better than man students
you have a chance, yes, but it really depends where you wanna go. if you'll be content w/ a state college, then prolly. if you want a private. don't kno. yeah you have a chance, so apply to lots of scholarships, like on fastweb and stuff - things are looking good for you b/c you can apply to both merit based and need based scholarships
Even if a national merit scholar, only a few thousand at most. Try scholarships, that's your best bet. Sucks that you live in Illinois since I'm also a Chinese girl in SF, land of asians and I've got Berkeley and LA that prestigious and affordable. Most big scholarships are awarded to community leaders. So start volunteering you butt off and organize charity events. yes, with the chinese, its a doctor or lawyer. I understand...
