Best job while in college?

Question:
I feel like I'm wasting my time in retail, I graduated at the top of my class in high school, I'm still getting straight A's in college, and nothing is really challenging me. I want an office type job where I get paid at least $12.00/hour. What jobs should I be looking into? I'm majoring in Kinesiology and then heading off to Chiropractic school closeby. I've read becoming a massage therapist would be a nice paying job and it goes hand in hand with eventually becoming a chiropractor. Or since I love working with computers, love to learn about the stock market, and will be actively trading in the near future should I go for an office job? Being an intern? I feel like I'm wasting my life being a cashier, but at least I get to read books on the market. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Answer:
The best job for you would be a job in a Chiropractor's office! I did it before I went off to Logan and I loved it. I learned so much about managing an office and just interacting with people. Even if it is just a couple of days a week a few hours at a time it is a HUGE bonus when you get to school. You can look at an X-ray and think, "Hey I have seen this. I know what this is." Even if you don't earn a lot of cash it is great experience, definitely something you can't put a price on.
The only good jobs that I know of that are good while in college are government jobs...those types of jobs pay really well and plus they tend to cater to college students as well (atleast thats the way it is down here) so if I were you I'd try and go for a gov't job first, save up and then when its time for you to get into your major I'd start doing some interning...
A lot of temp office jobs are quite mind-numbing and do not give you a lot of practical experience, unless it's related to your future career. You may end up making a lot of copies, or scanning documents, or setting up databases or spreadsheets - basically stuff that the regular workers don't have time for.
Sounds like you have a pretty good plan - I'd go for the massage therapist position and/or see if there are chiropractor internships. Even if the pay is low, it's good experience, and you can probably still work weekends and nights at another job if you need more $.
I would think learning about the stock market is something you could do in your spare time on your own, but you probably can't get a paying job doing that as an intern , unless you live near a brokerage headquarters or NYC. I would paper trade for many months, making "fake" trades while doing the hardcore research on the companies and stocks you pick, and see how well you do, and how much you improve. The stock market is no place for amateurs, and even pro's can get toasted.
